Mechanization of movement was a product of the futurist ethic. Ivo Pannaggi designed costumes that synthesize the deforming cubist figures into the painted mechanical setting, expressing the basic tenets of futurist thinking: the integration or synthesis of the performer with his surroundings and the mechanization of the performer.
